Is Your Organization In Control?

By Cheryl Black, TANO's Chief Operating Officer.

We hear a lot these days about developing and maintaining internal controls. If you have an annual audit, you know how many more questions the CPA asks you and your employees when they start field work. Do you have your policy and procedures written down? Are they part of your employee orientation and training? Do you know why you have to take time out of your all ready impossible schedule to think about them? Let's step back a moment and look at the logic behind internal controls.  Full article available at

For more information on nonprofit internal controls and more join us for the Nonprofit Financial Management Is No Game Series in Bryan/College Station this January. Contact Mary Beth Harrington at mbharrington@tano.org for more details!

Nonprofit Financial Management is No Game
!

No one has a Monopoly on happiness but being part of a nonprofit organization provides many rewards. However, too often a nonprofit organization's lifespan is cut short by poor financial management (bankruptcy!) This series is a fun but in-depth exploration of the major components of nonprofit financial management. Participants will use the components of the game of Monopoly to learn how to play to win their organization's financial health. The organization with the most Monopoly money at the end of the series will win a prize!  Bring this series to your community!  Contact Mary Beth Harrington at mbharrington@tano.org for more details!
